Charlie Brooker’s ‘How Video Games Changed the World’ reminds me why he’s such a cool figure to have knocking around in the media.
For me the problem with cultural theorists like Zizek is that they offer some vague loosely defined ‘theory’ and then think it surprising or profound that they find things in the whole of popular culture that are consistent with.
They have clearly not heard of false positives or finding verifying evidence by chance. It’d would be more surprising if you couldn’t find a single example in all of pop. culture that is consistent with such vague-ry.
